About
I'm Peter Fries, a writer and artist.

This is a place for me to think out loud about my ideas.

Appearing in the constellation Cassiopeia, the Heart Nebula, IC 1805, lies 7,500 light years away in the Perseus arm of our galaxy. The 200 light year wide cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium and ionized gases is lit from within by a group of young, hot stars in a cluster called Melotte 15 (image credit: Daniel Marquardt).
